The contestants who survive the first auditions will graduate to 'boot camp' and will then be divided into three categories -- 16 to 25 years, individuals over 25 years. The contestants' talent will be tested mercilessly until the top acts remain. The auditions will play all days of the week from May 29 to June 4 and the galas will start from June 10 with the top 12 finalists, every Friday and Saturday. http://indiatvshow.in/xfactor/xfactor.html

X Factor India Judge Sonu Nigam

Playback singer Sonu Nigam will judge the Indian version of the music reality show 'X Factor'. The singing talent show has been adapted from the successful international show 'The X Factor'. The auditions for the show, which will be aired on Sony Entertainment channel, are going on in several parts of the country. http://indiatvshow.in/xfactor/xfactor.html

"My consent to be a judge of 'X Factor' is proof enough of my faith in the format, the teams involved and the Channel. Music in India has gone beyond the boundaries of film music. So for all those singers, bands and musicians who are trying to give music a new expression the show will give them a platform to showcase their talent, attitude, passion and commitment," Nigam said.

According to reports, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and music composer Salim Merchant are the other two judges for the show, to be hosted by singer-anchor Aditya Narayan.

"'X Factor' is the greatest platform for singers and performers coming from any and every background. Divided in three categories, candidates - ranging from individuals to groups to couples, will be judged for singing talent, attitude and star quality," Sony Entertainment Television Head of Programming Ajay Bhalwankar said.

The channel has partnered with international company Fremantle Media, the license holders to the format, for the programme. "We are very excited about launching X Factor in India and expect the show to be the biggest and the best yet," Fremantle Media India Managing Director S K Raj Barua said. http://indiatvshow.in/xfactor/xfactor.html
